Anaphylaxis is a severe, potentially life-threatening allergic reaction that can develop rapidly and should always be treated as an emergency. It is important that carers supporting someone who is at risk of anaphylactic shock when in contact with an allergen know how to care for that person and support them through an attack. This 2 hour awareness course covers the following areas;

- What is Anaphylaxis?

- What are people allergic to?

- What happens in an allergic reaction?

- How do you respond to a severe allergic reaction?

- What medication do you use and how?

- When should you call an ambulance?

Over 600,000 people in the UK have Epilepsy. It is important that carers supporting someone with Epilepsy know what to do in the event of a seizure, and can respond quickly and appropriately. This 2.5 hour awareness course covers the following areas;

- What is Epilepsy?

- What types of seizure might a person experience?

- What should you do if someone is having a seizure?

- What is emergency medication?

- When should you call an ambulance?
